Fourth grade students interviewed people they admire. During the
interviews, students discovered interesting life stories about their
interviewees and drew comparisons between their childhood and childhood
in the year 2008. Then students wrote stories about their interviewees'
lives based on their findings. On June 3, 2008, the class hosted
its "Time Capsule" event. Interviewees and family members were invited
to hear the students read the biographic accounts of their individuals'
lives. The stories were then sealed in a "time capsule" to show that
these living histories are being preserved for future generations to
enjoy.
