The Fourth Grade class presented a
puppet play based on "The Lorax" by
Dr. Seuss to the First Graders. The purpose of the play was to
celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday and also to learn about deforestation.
The Lorax "speaks for the trees" that are being chopped down by the
Once-ler. At the end of the play, the Once-ler recruits a boy to save
the forest of truffula trees and the environment can be restored to
its original beauty. Both Fourth and First Grade students learned the
importance of protecting the environment around us.
