Dear Parents,

The summer is winding down fast and the school is preparing to welcome all students, those who have been with us for years as well as the new ones.

With our dedicated staff and faculty, Our Lady of Lourdes provides an excellent education for the children and creates a safe environment in which they can grow physically and spiritually as a whole person. Also, as a Catholic School, through prayers, participation in church liturgy, and celebrating sacraments, we cherish the core Catholic values such as the Gospel Spirit of love, mutual respect, forgiveness, and genuine peace.

On behalf of the faculty, staff, students and myself, I wish to extend our thanks and appreciation to Father Ed for his prayerful and spiritual guidance, especially his efforts and support of our school. May God bless the entire faculty with serenity, courage, and wisdom so that they may encourage their students to grow spiritually and develop values of excellence.

In order to endure safe conditions regarding the pick-up and drop-off of your child(ren) and in maintaining discipline and order in the building, I would appreciate your cooperation in complying with the following school regulations:

  • Please drop-off your child(ren) on the playground at Booream Avenue by 7:50 am and also pick them up from that side of the school. In the morning, children will be supervised by the teacher on duty starting at 7:30 am.

  • Please do not block the curbs surrounding the playground entrances on Cleveland and Booream Avenues. The buses need to be able to turn wide into the parking lots in order to drop off and pick up the students.

  • If your child(ren) arrive after 8:00 am, they must stop in the office to receive a late pass and will be marked "tardy" for the day.

  • During inclement weather (rain, snow, or extreme cold), the children will gather in the school gym in the morning. They must still enter the building using the Booream Avenue entrance; the main entrance on Cleveland Avenue is for visitors only. There is no crossing guard on Cleveland Avenue.

  • Parents are not allowed to walk their children to the classroom or linger in the hallways during the morning, afternoon, or before dismissal. Please wait for your children to be dismissed on the playground.

  • Volunteer parents that work in the school must sign both in and out in the school office and wear a "Visitor Pass" while in the building.

  • Parents are always welcome in the school office concerning any matter, but they must make an appointment.

  • Parents are also welcome to speak with teachers, but an appointment must be made. No appointment is allowed during school hours or shortly before class.

  • Children must wear a proper school uniform purchased from Flynn & O'Hara Uniform Company. A reminder that polo shirts are no longer part of our school uniform. Sneakers are to be worn only on gym or Tag days.

  • A reminder that all families are required to volunteer 35 hours during the school year. There are many opportunities throughout the year to fulfill your obligation. Please make sure that you sign in and out every time you volunteer in order for us to keep an accurate records of your volunteer hours.

  • Please make sure that all of your contact information is current with the school office and on our Honeywell Instant Alert System so that we my contact you in case of an emergency.

I want to thank you, parents, for your support and confidence in Catholic Education. May God bless our effort for the good of our children, the Church and country.

God bless!
